Who we are and what this policy covers
Mangify is a multilingual recipe platform for home cooks. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the mangify.net website and to the Mangify mobile apps.
Information you provide
When you create an account we store your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of that password. Your profile may include a username, display name, photo, and bio. We also store the content you create on Mangify: comments, ratings, reactions, personal recipe notes, favorites, bookmarks, and collections.
Signing in with Apple, Google, or Facebook
If you sign in with a social provider, we receive your name and email address from that provider — never your password. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address, in which case we only see the private relay address Apple generates for you.
Information collected automatically
To power features such as cooking history, recently viewed recipes, and recommendations, we record which recipes, videos, and articles you view and what you search for. Our servers also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and abuse prevention. We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics (Vercel Analytics) that do not track you across other websites, and an error-monitoring service (Sentry) that may process technical data when something goes wrong.
How we use your information
We use your data to operate and personalize Mangify: keeping you signed in, remembering your language, maintaining your favorites, history, and collections, showing relevant content, moderating the community, and sending essential account messages. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.
What other people can see
Your comments, ratings, and public collections are visible to other visitors together with your display name and profile photo. Private collections, personal notes, favorites, cooking history, and search history are visible only to you.
Moderation, reporting, and blocking
You can report a comment or block another member. Reports are linked to your account so we can prevent abuse, and reported comments may be hidden automatically and reviewed. Blocking hides that member's comments from you; the blocked member is not notified.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you securely signed in and to remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Where your data is stored and who helps us process it
Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (website hosting and aggregated analytics), our own search server hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), and Sentry (error monitoring). These providers process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and content are permanently removed, and any residual copies in encrypted backups expire within 30 days. We keep only a minimal anonymized record of the deletion itself.
Your rights and deleting your account
You can access and update your profile at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data or for its deletion by emailing the address below. You can also delete your account directly from account settings where that option is available. If you are in the EU/EEA, you additionally have the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Mangify is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Mangify evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest revision, and we will highlight significant changes on the site or by email.
