Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Tip: Make sure ingredients are well combined
Cream butter and sugars
In a large bowl, cream together butter and both sugars until fluffy.
Tip: Room temperature butter works best
Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
Combine wet and dry
Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
Tip: Do not overmix
Add chocolate chips
Fold in chocolate chips.
Shape cookies
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Tip: Space cookies 2 inches apart
Bake
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
Tip: For chewier cookies, slightly underbake
Cool
Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
Tips
Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker cookies.

Try adding nuts or different types of chocolate chips.
